I am caught up in a storm that is The Fault in Our Stars.
A storm is a beautiful disaster. It can be destructive, but it can very well reinvigorate the world. It can be frightening as well as enlightening.
That, is exactly what John Green and his fictitious tale have done to me.
It made my heart drop below the floor. It made me feel like flying. It made me want to dream bigger. To use bigger words. It made me stop. Think. Listen. Re-read. It made me fall, then helped me back onto my feet. It made me well up. Then it made me let it go. It made me learn, unlearn, and re-learn. It made me scream on the inside. It made me silent on the outside.
It was - and is - a perfect mess of feelings, perceptions, thoughts, misfortune, and victory.
Thank you, John Green. And for you? Hypothetical high-five… Nice.
